The following education session recordings from past CALLERLAB conventions deal with voice topics: use and care of the voice, improving range and quality, harmonizing, etc.

Arden Hopkin Voice Recordings 1981-2011
Arden Hopkin was a voice coach and university professor who was kind enough to run many sessions on voice at CALLERLAB conventions.
1985 Voice Interest Session
1985 CALLERLAB Convention, Phoenix, AZ Voice Interest Session This session will deal with your most valuable possession - your voice. It is chaired by Jim Mayo who has written a book about this subject and will discuss the care and feeding of your voice to protect what you have. It will address some techniques on how to use your voice effectively as well as answer your questions about specific concerns. The session will be taped and tapes will be available during the convention prior to your departure. This session will discuss the use of our voice.
1989 Voice Clinic
1989 CALLERLAB Convention, Nashville, TN Voice - Clinic Jim Mayo, Clinician. Jim is an Accredited Calier-Coach and extremely well-qualified to be the clinician for this session. Jim is changing the format this year. He plans to discuss just a little about the voice and then make it into a clinic for those who wish to seek help with voice problems or to check to see if you are doing things correctly. Please contact Jim if you wish to be scheduled for mike time.

1991 CALLERLAB Convention, Las Vegas, NV Voice Martin Mallard and panelists John Marshall and Jim Mayo. A review of the care and feeding of the voice- your most important asset. Some hands on demonstrations may be done if time permits.
1992 Operation For Female Callers
1992 CALLERLAB Conv Operation For Female Callers Audio Equipment Operation for Female Callers Presented by Ben Goldberg. This session will discuss the use of modern square dance sound equipment for the female voice. Caller-Coaches working with female callers should also find this session of interest.
1992 Voice - Female Callers
1992 CALLERLAB Convention, Virginia Beach, VA Female Caller's Voice Session Guest speaker, Debbie Wittrup, This session is designed specifically for female callers but will also be of interest to caller-coaches working with female callers. Debbie will follow up the general voice session with specific information for female voices. As time permits, she will also conduct individual voice critiques.
1993 Use and Care of Your Voice
1993 CALLERLAB Convention, Louisville, KY Use and Care of your Voice Guest speaker Debbie Wittrup will talk about the use and care of your voice. Vocal exercises and preventive maintenance techniques will help you keep your voice in top shape for your calling activities. Debbie's presentation at our 1992 convention was very successful so we have invited her again in 1993.
1993 Voice Critiques
1993 CALLERLAB Convention, Louisville, KY Voice Critiques Debbie Wittrup, our guest speaker and voice coach, will conduct this session for caller coaches and caller trainers only. The subject will be the mechanics of conducting a voice critique of student callers. If you are involved in this type of caller training, be sure to attend this informative session.

1995 CALLERLAB Convention, Pittsburgh, PA Voice 101 - Calling With Confidence and Care (Session 1) Jan Wilson, a voice instructor from Altoona, Pennsylvania, will present an enjoyable session designed to boost confidence and instruct you in the proper use of your voice. Vocal exercises and preventive maintenance techniques will be offered to help you keep your voice in top shape.
1997 Music - Techniques and Harmony
1997 CALLERLAB Convention, Los Angeles, CA Music - Techniques and Harmony Moderator Pat Carnathan, panelists Mike Seastrom and Vic Karria. The goal of this session is to help callers learn how to sing in harmony with each other and with recorded music. The fundamentals of music - melody, harmony, and rhythm will be presented. A demonstration of singing thirds and fifths and a chance for some of those present to try singing in harmony may add to the presentation.

1998 CALLERLAB Convention, Cincinati, OH Music - Harmony Techniques Moderator Gerry Hardy. The goal of this session is to help callers learn how to sing in harmony with each other and with recorded music. The fundamentals of music -melody, harmony, and rhythm will be presented. 2001 CALLERLAB Convention, St Louis, MO Yodeling BOF - Moderated by Joe Frisella This will be an introduction to yodeling. Joe has been involved with yodeling for about 12 years and has helped several callers learn this talent. If you are interested in learning more about this art form, plan to attend. If you plan to attend, Joe recommends that you also attend the Voice I session with Arden Hopkin.
