Description
Each year the CALLERLAB Convention provides two full days of education and information sessions. For many years audio recordings have been made of selected sessions, and latterly some have also been recorded on video. So far, CALLERLAB has posted several hundred of these recordings to YouTube, to make them generally available. There are many more to come, so this is an ongoing process.

The table below lists all the video recordings posted so far. Each entry shows the year of the recording, the title of the session (which is also a link to the recording), and a description of the topic. This table lists video files only. Audio recordings made in earlier years are available in a separate article.
Index of CALLERLAB Convention Video Recordings

The following table contains 257 links to video recordings posted as of August 18th, 2022. Entries are initially sorted in descending order by year and ascending order by session title, but you may click on the little up/down arrows in the column headers to sort on other columns. Click on the title to go to the recording. You may search this page for keywords using your browser's page "find" function (Ctrl-f). Do not use the search box to the right - it searches the entire KnowledgeBase, not just this page.

This session will look at several lesser-known techniques. How can you take a recording and extend the length of the track using copy and paste? How do you make cuts in the music that sound smooth? How can you take the called side of a recording and splice in vocal backups to the uncalled side? How do you convert from stereo to mono? 20152015 CALLERLAB Conv Extended But Not Extreme - Basic2015 CALLERLAB Convention Springfield, MO - Extended But Not Extreme - Basic Moderator, Masaharu “Doc” Hiraga, and Panelists, Mike Callahan and Walt Burr. There are many calls for which we have well known "standard" applications, and we have even documented many of them in the Standard Applications documents. "Standard", however, does not mean "easier" — it really means "more common". There are many infrequently used applications that are not hard, they're just infrequent. Because they're infrequent, dancers bobble when they hear them, so we avoid them, so they stay infrequent; a vicious circle. Some examples: Ladies In, Men Sashay from a Circle Right; Veer Left/Right from Facing Lines; Chain Down The Line from Tidals; Zoom from CDPT. If you are interested in enriching your dancers' experience with usages that are not hard, just infrequently used, this session is for you.

20152015 CALLERLAB Conv Hind Sight2015 CALLERLAB Convention Springfield, MO - Hind Sight Moderator, Ken Ritucci and Panelist, Lee Kopman. SIGHT CALLING ----- For the caller with little or no experience: How to start – What to look for in order to sharpen your basic skills. For callers with experience: Look for ways to be creative. Ask yourself: “Are sequences called in the same pattern each week?” We will research different ideas and formations to see if we can come up with a variety of suggestions that will help you to make these choices. In order to achieve this, your sight calling skills have to be sharpened—or refined. The professional square dance caller has a lot on his plate: Teaching; Understanding Choreo; Being able to dance what he has called; Selecting proper music for his/her voice; Finding a comfort zone. ALL OF IT HAS TO DO WITH DEVELOPING GOOD SIGHT CALLING SKILLS!
